Zelensky To Russia: What Are You Fighting For And With Whom?

In an emotional address, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky said that nearly 200,000 Russian troops are across the border in Russia. He said in a video statement late Thursday that he believes “enemy sabotage elements” have entered Kyiv and that he is their primary target. He claimed that his family was the second target.

He said he was staying in the government area because “they want to destroy Ukraine politically by destroying the head of state.”

Ukraine’s democratically elected government has announced a state of emergency, which will take effect on Friday.

Zelensky pleaded for international assistance, saying that unless Ukraine receives assistance today, “war will come knocking at your door tomorrow.”

According to preliminary numbers, 137 Ukrainian soldiers have died since the assault began early Thursday, with another 316 soldiers injured, according to Zelensky.
